Lex Fridman and Elon Musk : “Fuck that, we’re gonna get it done.”

I’ve long been an advocate for managing your input and your output. That means you have to take responsibility for what’s going in your brain. It sounds easy, but it means you need to try to cherry-pick media that will help you, not hold you back. Especially in such a content-saturated landscape, it’s critically important to select what you allow in front of your eyes. This is a podcast between Lex Fridman and Elon Musk. At the timestamp, Elon is responding to Lex in regards to, basically, extrinsic motivation.

We would do well to adopt that phrase into the lexicon. It’s no wonder Musk would be on board with that thinking – he’s a great reference for keeping an attitude that is relentless about progress.

So much so, it’s sort of freaky to listen to. When Elon really gets going about his vision for the future – AI, going to Mars – he speaks really confidently. It’s not a question for him. He’s stating what will happen.

He’s a great guest for Lex – they have a natural chemistry. Listening to their interview reminds me of listening to interviews with other ‘thinkers’. Sometimes I have to play it back a couple times to pick up everything their putting down. Still, to study conversation and listen to how our world might turn out, Lex Fridman and Elon Musk are a solid listen.
